Methodology
How we handle reviews
This site is published by Med Matrix. It is our own site about our own business, and it is not an independent review service. Everything below explains exactly how the reviews on it get here.
Where the reviews come from
Our Google reviews are pulled straight from our Google Business Profile listing by an automated job. We don't retype them, we don't shorten them, and we don't choose which ones to fetch. The job takes whatever the listing holds on the day it runs. Reviews left on this site go through a person first, which is explained further down.
Our rating is 4.8 stars from 190+ Google reviews as of September 3, 2026. You can check that number yourself on our Google listing.
We don't filter by rating
Every review is on this site regardless of how many stars it gives us. The default order is newest first, so whatever came in most recently is at the top whether it is good or bad. You can filter by star rating if you want to read only the low ones. Plenty of people do, and that filter is there on purpose.
We also don't offer discounts, gifts or anything else in exchange for a review, and we don't ask happy patients to review us while routing unhappy ones somewhere private.
The one thing we do hold back, and why
We are a medical practice in Maine, and there are things a medical practice is not allowed to publish even when a patient said them. Two rules matter here. We cannot publish a claim that we cured, reversed or prevented a disease. And the Maine medical board has set the exact form of one of our provider's names, so we cannot publish text that gives him a title he is not permitted to use.
When a review trips one of those, it is held for a person to look at rather than published automatically. Right now 4 reviews are being held for that reason, and all of them are 5 star reviews. Holding them makes this page less flattering, not more.
This check can only ever hold back praise. A review that criticises us cannot be held by it, no matter what it says about the care. That is built into how the check works, not a promise we are asking you to take on trust.
Reviews left on this site
A person reads every review submitted here before it goes live. They are checking two things: that it does not contain private health details the writer probably did not mean to publish, and that it does not contain a medical claim we are not allowed to repeat. They are not checking whether it is positive.
We fix nothing else. No tidying up the spelling, no trimming the parts that sting.
When we reply
We reply to a lot of reviews, and our replies show up underneath them here. We keep those replies vague about anything clinical on purpose. Confirming that someone is a patient, or mentioning their treatment in public, would breach their privacy even though they brought it up first. If you have raised something that needs a real answer, call us on (207) 544-4643 and we will take it off the internet and into a conversation.
Check us somewhere else
You should not have to trust a company's own website about its own reviews. Here is where to look instead.
